Neighborhood Highlights:

Rogers Park is a diverse, liberal and tolerant neighborhood.  It has a high Internet presence and is one of the United States' bloggiest neighborhoods.  Newer businesses and chains have added additional convenience to a neighborhood already filled with diverse, eclectic shops.  Rogers Park is unique in that it is one of the few Chicago neighborhoods that has direct public access to Lake Michigan.

Many of the neighborhood streets are named after developers (Greenleaf, Lunt, Morse, Farwell, and Pratt) and nearly every east-west street ends with a beach.  Neighborhood park, lakefront, and beach access are some of Rogers Parks' perks.  In addition to being popular these perks (beach, lakefront) are unique in that they largely feel like a part of the neighborhood itself, much like you'd expect from a resort town in Michigan or Wisconsin.

Rogers Park residents benefit from the accessible CTA Red Line and RTA Metra train lines.  Ten to thirty minute average train trips from Rogers Park to the downtown area (Ogilvie Transportation Center/State and Lake) rival car drives half the distance.  The Sheridan 151 and CTA express buses are also available.

Rogers Park recieves very high walk scores (Walkscore.com) due to the many business, schools, and parks within walking distance.  Interesting neighborhood businesses, as well as, local and national chains are found throughout the neighborhood.  Large grocery store chains, such as Jewel-Osco or Dominicks, are within an average of 10 minutes.
